Tasigur, the Golden Fang

So this was spoiled recently, and there are a few people talking about playing him in legacy and modern. What are your thoughts? He is great, and it many times is {Tarmogoyf} stats for {B}. His ability isn't particularly great, but he can produce addition value, which is a factor. I think the biggest strike against him is that he is kind of competing against {Tarmogoyf} and {Treasure Cruise}

I guess it's like a 1 mana 4/5, but unless TC gets banned, it probably won't make it in every single deck like TC is.

Gurmag Angler is a 5/5 for one more CMC... With Delve that one CMC isn't that relevant.

So this guy had a pretty good weekend, appearing in standard, modern and legacy at SCG, and more than tripled in price. Where do we see him going forward? Is his price sustainable, and will he see more, less or the same amount of play?

Probably riding the hype train for a little while longer but since people are opening FRF he will stabilize. 10$ seems fair since he is a black goyf. Though call for BGx decks though, play Tasigur or Bob. (I'm sticking with Bob).

I think a modern esper control list could easily run a pair though, he seems like a good finisher with a somewhat useful ability against grindy matches

Well Tasigur is a 1 mana 4/5 Tarmo is a 2 mana 4/5 Tasigur won't be banned but he'll be good
