Ghost quarter vs tec edge? In a bw token deck and why?

Ekann1

Format is modern I assume? How many would you run of each?

Hunteroffire9

1-3 of one or the other not both

Most people run tec edge since non basics are very common and you don't want to let your opponent fetch up another land when you destroy theirs. Another thing is you can double tec edge someone to destroy 2 lands at the same time if you activate both abilities in response to each other.

The only reason you play {Ghost Quarter} is if you play {Archive Trap} so mill plays 2-4 Ghosts bc blowing up a {Celestial Colonnade} and milling them 13 is great!!

It depends what you are trying to accomplish. Ghost Quarter is a better card against Tron, Affinity and Scapeshift because of the speed an ability to respond. It is weaker against UWR, Jund, Pod and Storm as you are allowing them to get better draws and only
Increasing the chances of winning.

Tectonic Edge is better for decks that go into the long game, as it doesn't help the opponent as much and using 2 lands by the time is at least using resources more effiently.

Vigor Combo uses Ghost Quarter because it can be activated when fetched with Prime Titan. Gifts Control uses it because it becomes a Strip Mine by the third use of it pretty much. Affinity has run Ghost a few times to great success. Hatebears also uses it because of Aven Mindcensor and etc.

Tec edge is used in UWR, Jund and BGx most of the time because how much mana isn't used effieciently and this helps sort it out. It also becomes better in the late game due to the strength of destroying a land on slower decks as well.
