why is shivan reef so expensive, why not use a land like sunpetal grove or whatever the izzet one is

Not a rules question, but probably because it (and other Pain lands) provide two colors on turn 1.  It seems a bit of play in UR combo decks in modern, I know that much.

It's  {Sulfur Falls}, and it's kinda up there in price also
