Vedalkin shackles

So I have {Vedalkin shackles} in play with only 3 basic islands. I cast {stormtide leviathan} making the other lands (4) I have in play islands too. I chose to take control of an opponents creature with power of 5. If someone kills my {stormtide leviathan} do I lose the creature I stole as well now that I no longer control 7 islands

The island count only matters when the ability is activated and when it resolves. After that, it only matters that the shackles stay tapped.

He was playing 2 colors. The stormtide made the oter lands islands aswell. I think. Haha i thought that was odd too. But theres allways stuff like {elvish piper} and {quicksilver amulet}
