Puzzle Thief UB Combo

60 cards, 0 sideboard

3 {Reliquary Tower}
4 {Watery Grave}
6 {Island}
4 {Underground River}
4 {Creeping Tar Pit}
3 {Swamp}

24 lands

4 {Notion Thief}
3 {Spellskite}

7 creatures

4 {Remand}
4 {Jace's Erasure}
4 {Thoughtseize}
1 {Isochron Scepter}
3 {Doomblade}
1 {Dismember}
4 {Spell Snare}
4 {Mana Leak}
4 {Teferi's Puzzle Box}

29 other spells

Sideboard
2 {Torpor Orb}
3 {Silent Arbiter}
4 {Darkness}
3 {Aetherize}
3 {Grafdigger's Cage}

{Notion Thief} + {Teferi's Puzzle Box} = Your opponent does not get to have a hand for the rest of the game. Cast {Jace's Erasure} and let the Puzzle Box mill them out in a few turns while you cycle through your deck with a new hand each turn. I haven't tested yet, but this seems like a somewhat reliable lock.

Edit: -4 {Whispering Madness}, +3 {Doomblade}, +1 {Dismember}

My mate runs this it's so evil.

So your opponent never gets to draw a card and puts his hand at the bottom of his/her library? If I'm correct I already love and hate this deck.

Does whispering madness really have a place in this deck?  It feels win-more when you'd end up using it to just Wheel yourself every turn after your opponent has a hand.

That said, I love the concept.  The biggest problem just seems like it would be that both combo pieces cost 4 mana (although, that can be used to advantage with Transmute cards)

I want to see your rack deck and this thing square off.

Yeh, this is an initial draft. And I'm beginning to think the same thing about whispering madness. Those spots could be something else quite easily. Also about both pieces being 4 mana. It's helps that Notion Thief can be flashed in at the end of the opponents Turn 4, and then you can cast puzzle box on your turn 5 with maybe a preemptive thoughtseize or spell snare backup. I'll learn more as I play with it for sure.

I could see lots of get 1 wins the game 2,3 losses

Played test matches against UWR Twin and Melira Pod. Beat pod game one and got the lock combo set up but lost games 2 and 3. Gotta figure out a side board thing for that.

Against Twin I lost in 2 games, but he never comboed out and they were super long grindy games where he flashed in angels in his upkeep and beat down with colonnades and stuff.

Super fun to play with so far, and with some work and tuning it could maybe compete a little bit. I'm thrilled.

{Spellskite} and {torpor orb} for twin. {Torpor orb} and {stony silence} for pod.
