this might not be 100 percent the right place for this but on the card {soul's fire} it says target creature you control "on the battlefield" ... even on the oracle. you cant have a creature anywhere but the battlefield, right? just a creature spell or a creature card, right?

so is that different than say {fall of the hammer}?
