I made three 7th Graders cry.

I made a kid cry once, he was on his way to his first FNM win, and my deck decided that him getting paired down against me, who wasn't in the running, was the perfect time to give me unbeatable draws. He wasn't feeling well, either, which didn't help. It was the worst I've ever felt playing magic. Seriously. He's a regular, too, so I know he's a great kid. Broke my heart. I tried everything I could to help.

So yeah, I don't really get why it's something to sound proud of. Because that felt absolutely awful.

As I recall she said she would take a break for a while, not "leave the forum forever"

Please be careful of "quoting" someone on something they never said

As for the topic, let's stay on task

I do agree that it could be a learning experience for them to get trounced, and I hope they treat it as such. Otherwise it would be kinda sad...

To the 4 of you, whomever you may be, that negged me for this post yesterday: you are solidifying my decision furthermore to run away from this place and not look back. Hope you continue to enjoy being pricks and effing with people's Karma. You're a bunch of punks. And you probably smell like dirty socks mixed with a pile of garbage.

Check yoself before you riggity-wreck yoself fools.

Sidenote: I love all of those who responded here. I'll keep in touch.

Run away from this place and not look back...

Sounds pretty final to me. To me it seems most of you place LadyGrixis on a pedestal and white knight her like this. Anyway this is way off-topic and I do apologize for that, but I thought I'd state my mind here instead of starting a topic soley about it.

Regardless, I think you did nothing wrong op, holding back on them would just allow them to continue holding back themselves.

LadyGrixis

You're truly making this a personal, aren't you?

Well kudos to you, because if you read further, I mention hiatus. But I'm not going to go dig through months-old posts just to prove a point.

Falcon182

Can a mod lock this thread? It's pointless.

Gorzo

Not locking it, but I will remind users to avoid personal attacks and instigating arguments please. We're all on this love boat together, no reason to ride any drama llamas on deck.

I was playing them after class. One had a very bad Kumano Red, the other a Dimir Mill, and the last one a fked up Izzet deck.

I was playing casual Humans mono-white. First turn {Champion of the Parish}, second a {Gather the Townsfolk} and so on... I swung my Champion for 15 plus like 7 other 1/1's an 2/2's with help from three {Honor of te Pure}. Soo...about 46 damage. We had 30 life each. They wanted to play me three on one and still lost. What do you guys think?
Older players (in terms of how long they have been playing magic) will often beat the newer players. A good thing for the older players to do is give advice. And the newer players should be willing to listen. You did nothing wrong by beating them and it's good that you are asking for advice on these forums. The next time you face someone obviously worse than you, teach them something, and maybe let them try your deck if you feel so inclined.

Magic is a game. It has a winner and a loser. Being the winner doesn't make you a bad person. From what I read it doesn't seem like you gloated or anything. Just always be a good sport, and help newer ayers. That will get you a long way for sure.

I will be disregarding the off topic comments here. (Totally not necessary btw)

I agree with what you said about kid being taught properly, LG. As a parent, one of my main goals is to make sure my kid doesn't grow up to be an .rearexit.. But as someone who has studied youth psychology, I know that every adolescent goes through a phase of self importance, and to be honest, that is what I read this OP as. It doesn't make the way he titled his thread less offensive, but to me, this is a kid being a kid, boasting for recognition, and berating him for it isn't helpful. Lg was actually spot on in her first post "maybe you should have helped..." But it went on from there to several people just making him feel bad when he didn't even tell us how he handled it afterwards. Meh, I just saw it from a different perspective that's all.

Thank you Moneekahh. That was really all I meant. And there were definitely times, back when I started playing this game, that I wish people had helped me out.

In any way, some of you were correct. I did try and help. Can anyone give me a very cheap yet effective Kumano Decklist as well as a proper Izzet? I plan to give these to the guys I beat. I also told them to practice so that they wont get whupped again.

A quick Google Search gave me this; hope it helps! :)

I would try maybe a scry/weird mix for an izzet style deck that won't cost much and will be easy to get. Haven't looked to see any builds but the idea does sound fun.

Wow, that  {Prognostic Sphinx}/ {Flamespeaker Adept} idea is down right scary. That can get out of hand quick. Maybe there is a use for the sphinx.

Gorzo

{Aqueous Form} on {Flamespeaker Adept} is pretty crazy, too.

There's also the old Izzet Blitz deck as an option. {Nivix Cyclops} with {Artful Dodge} and pump instants like {Dynacharge}. Surprise!

May as well throw in a  {Dragonshift} as a finishing move just in the event they have all fliers or even better, no fliers.
