I tapped {elixir of immortality} my opponent played {disperse} on it I say it still resolves and I shuffle graveyard into library then the artifact goes back to my hand.
Thanks

Correct - once you've put the ability on the stack, even if he responds to it by moving the card to a different zone the ability resolves.

Honestly that's better for you, you get 5 life, your library back and can put the elixir back on the battlefield next turn, win/win.

Correct. Think of it this way: if I shoot ane arrow and then you kill me right away, the arrow still hits its target regardless of whether or not I am alive. Same with spells and abilities on thw stack. If you use a planeswalker's ability and in response I kill the planeswalker, is ability (arrow) still reaolves.

Assuming you can aim a bow and arrow (it's fairly hard, trust me, I'm an archer (I'm not an archer, I just own a bow))
