Dude. They are the exact same card. An instant that does the same thing. The only difference is one gives you a little more wriggle room. You can still cast {Marrow Shards} for one white mana and not pay the two life just like with {Rain of Blades}. So if you don't want to pay the two life then Marrow Shards is the same card as Rain of Blades. However you can also cast it for the phyrexian mana, which gives you more options.

You just proved my point that marrow shards is not always better than rain of blades...

This.

2 choices are strictly better than 1.

How? You keep saying situational, but in what situation is it worse than Rain of Blades?

DylanW18

Why the apology? :p

I just want to know your view of why

It all depends on life total there. I never say strictly unless no matter what its better. That right there is why I say situationally better
IMO it's strictly better. It is the exact same card with an alternative casting cost, making it more flexible, forming to more situations. No matter what, that card is better.

FustyDavorite

Maybe ask yourself this question: which one would you prefer to main deck?

Sparkle Ninja

Rain of blades because I have a playset of foils

Rain of blades because I have a playset of foils

If you don't wanna kill your creatures you can go with {aggravate}
