What's not to like about shrine in a devotion deck?  I run 4 in a black modern build and I love it.  Mine is more of a funsy build that uses the ramp for things like {nantuko shade}, {empty the pits}, and {maga traitor to mortals}

Not very it's a win more card. If your Nykthos is getting you that much mana {Gary} is just better
