Yesterday I attended my fist TCG Platinum event and ended up finishing 45/108. I conceded the 7th round to a guy that uses the points, as I just wanted the mat at that point.

It was my first event outside of 25 player FNMs. Not being used to that competetive environment it was a little frustrating. Someone was typically always over you shoulder making sure you were playing fast and complaints to judges about play time were going like crazy. Is this typical of a larger event?

Wow, now see that's why I probably would not do well in large, super-competitive events. It's not "Speed Magic", it's just Magic. And I do understand advanced players getting irritated with people who may not necessarily need to be competing (because the opponent isn't as advanced), but cut people some slack....

Sidenote, congratulations!!! :D

Thanks. I definitely made a few mistakes due to trying to think/play too fast. The damn colossal gruul deck is no joke, and it really makes you pay attention to your mana.

I had a guy try to rush me the other night. I told him I had to think. When I have a possible combo of 22/22 trample coming at you, I want to think it out.

Sometimes you can lose by playing too fast, mistake a trigger etc.
