 {Xathrid Gorgon} says to put a petrification counter on the creature. What if the counter becomes removed by say...  {Vampire Hexmage}? This does absolutely nothing. The creatures inability to attack and activate abilities is not dependent upon the counter. Use your words wisely Wizards.
