If you use primal surge, are those cards considered that they were cast? And if yes, wouldn't it make sense to use primeval bounty? I'm thinking running my endless ranks of the dead, 2 times parallel lives, primeval bounty, then throw down primal surge

I don't think they are considered cast. Because my understanding of casting is paying mana for something

No, they aren't cast. It would say "cast them without paying their mana cost" or something similar...
