Hey I'm playing in a PTQ soon and I'm sure there's a couple others but, I have my own tricks and such that ill share but I'd also like to hear anybody else that has some

1. Get plenty of sleep
2. Don't drink coffee
3. Don't fret to much over it
4. Pay attention to your opponent
5. Don't over focus on a loss or a win

Most of these are pretty self explanatory but some need better explaining.

1.duh

2. Coffee is great I love it but if your drinking t to recover from a bad nights sleep or just because, you will just crash and that leads to a lack of focus.

3.By fretting you just make harder to sleep which equals harder to focus.

4.Pay attention to your opponent, your opponent will give away plenty of information, if he looks at his graveyard there is probably a reason behind it, if he is playing control there may be a {snapcaster Mage} coming or if its reanimator well.... You get the idea something bad is coming, your opponent will tell you all about there game plan with or without a {duress} you just have to pay attention :P.

5. if you focus on a loss you will lose your confidence you will start believing that you don't have a chance. it makes it alot more difficult to play a tough opponent when you don't believe you can win in the first place, you start making play mistakes and you might even scoop when there was a high chance of winning(play the game out). The same for the opposite, if you focus on a win so much that you think you can't lose you start beinning to aggressive you start over extending, you start countering the small threat when the bigger threat is right around te corner, instead of over focusing on your win or loss think about the game some, think about what you did wrong or right then let it go and look towards the next game.
There you go those are some of the tips that I've learned. I really want to hear any other tips you people have :)

Don't over practice. Give yourself some time to think...

I agree with all the above. In addition to coffee, I always tell people not to use energy drinks, pills, sodas, etc. All for the same reason. Also, get a good nights sleep. Eat well, hot wings sound great until you have to forfeit a match due to the squirts. Have a good attitude.

My tip would be don't forget to give yourself some time to unwind and relax. If you don't take care of your stress, it will lead to more stress and poor play.

I always smoke a lot of Mary Jane in order to be at a state of mind where I am a Jedi and my opponent is merely a puzzle which I can decipher using strategy, conversation and poker faces

You are not there to make friends
You are there to be the ultimate Planeswalker! Make money get bitches!

Don't play "on tilt". If you feel like you're on tilt, relax, take a deep breath and realize what is happening.

Also, some advice if you're losing: Slow play them to see more of their cards, and more of their tricks. Never bust out your fancy moves if you're losing, it is giving away more information about your deck. Using combat tricks and things to stabilize is fine, using them so you can hope to topdeck something that likely won't win the game is a bad idea.

Know your deck! And know your matchups. Knowing where your strengths and weaknesses against different decks lie, and what to play and what to sideboard to make corrections is key.

Be alert. Know how to play your deck against those matchups and try to make 0 bad plays. Don't miss triggers or opportunity to capitalize on your opponents misplays or weaknesses.

All these things require you to be relaxed, focused and attentive to everything that is going on. Chemicals (drugs, caffene) will effect this greatly so I would recommend abstaining from all of it and rather get a week (if possible) of really good sleep (7-8 hours) and try and set your body clock for the times you will need to be playing. (Especially important if you work night shift, etc)

Where is it and what time is it? If it's Ohio, I might go.

I play inebriated almost regularly. It doesn't effect my game. To each their own I guess.
