Attacking planeswalkers?!?

I have a question about  {Vraska the Unseen}
Would the damage that creature was going to do be prevented by her ability if it attacked her? Or would like the damage resolve. Then her ability take affect?

The damage would go through. Note the wording here, "when a creature deals damage, destroy the creature." The creature dealing damage to her is the condition for the effect to trigger, and the effect is destroying it. If no damage is done, no destroy effect happens. Make sense?

Ok. I'm just going to sigh and say my friends don't understand the rules of Magic.
They're all convinced that she can just negate all damage done to her.

Well for such a decent effect
It is a rather cheap card
Most you could possibly be spending is 3$
And I've seen it go low as .25
