Just remember the card has to have the word "Target" for it to target something.  So for example {clone} and {cackling counterpart} do kinda the same thing.....except the counterpart has to "Target" your creature, whereas clone simply comes in play as a copy of any creature in the BF.

I use the image to kill those annoying hex legends like {thrun the last troll} and {geist of saint Traft}

Let's say my opponent attacks with a {Coralhelm Commander} with 3 level counters and 2 {Champion's Drake}s

I am unable to block any of them, so I cast {Reflect Damage}

I choose 1 of the Drakes as the source

My opponent {boomerang}s the drake back to his hand

Do I get to choose a different source?

The redirection is not something that can be responded to since you are making the choice at the time damage happens.  By then it's too late to {Boomerang} anything.  It's not something that uses the stack either.
