Based around {Duskmantle Seer}, because when I saw it, I knew I needed it.  The ultimate build-around for a Johnny with my mind.  I know I could add {Serum Visions}, but I want to buy this irl eventually, and that's a tad too expensive, seeing as Seer is pretty costly.  The lands will probably be much less extravagant irl also.  And I know I could move it to Standard quite easily, but I just love scrying in here, and I'm much more used to the Modern environment.  Anyway, anyone have any ideas for this?

Time for another bump, can I PLEASE get some feedback?!  I mean really, any feedback, but I'm on my own right now!

Seems fun but too slow for modern

I think you're right.  I put in some {Sword of War and Peace}s for board presence, and switched the {Thought Scour}s to {Serum Visions}.  Still, I think you're right, it's not fast enough... But I can't think of how to fix it (I literally scrolled through every 1-or-2-cmc blue or black creature in Modern last night, and nothing fit, especially not anything within my budget.  The closest to "useful in this" were {Enclave Cryptologist}, a definitely slow creature, and {Knight of Infamy}, just a personal favorite of mine)  I just can't find anything cheap, fast, and useful for this deck...

All right, on cockatrice it's winning about half of the time, which is great for my casual circle, (all but 1 other is a noob, and they all learned everything from me) but not competitively.  {Sword of War and Peace}+{Duskmantle Seer} won me most of my games, with direct attacks via removal, and I'm trying to aim my deck towards that more.  I could make it much better for that, if I weren't on a budget, so I'll need some cheap suggestions unless {Duskmantle Seer} goes down at least $5, and I'm only half sure it will... Although it has gone down about $3 since the prerelease and I haven't heard much talk about it, so I'm staying hopeful :)

Have any of the other swords struck you to play besides war and peace?

Silent1236

{Sword of Feast and Famine} seems like it might be decent.

Oh, I'm surprised this is getting any attention, I kind of abandoned it when I realized it sucked... Just ignore this thread now, sorry

Dark confidant is out of the question then?
