I've recently been caught out by my wife in playing Magic with my mates instead of working for the past 8 weeks. She's effectively banned me from playing ever again, but I still have the passion for the game. Another factor is that about 4k of our savings was spent on Magic inside that time. Can anyone help me in order to try and bring her around so that I can play again without the marriage deteriorating?

Man up and figure out where your priorities are. My friend, if you are lying to your wife, spending savings, and playing magic instead of working you have a problem. You need to get some help and these forums won't address most of your needs. I feel for you because I've been in places like that and watched others go through similar things but some changes are in order. Good luck.

As blunt as that response was I have to agree. Box up the cards put them where you cant get to them till you reestablish your life. Hopefully a friend or parent can care for the box and not return it till whatever goals you set are met. Magic is great, but im sure youve learned you need a life (at least 1 point of it) to play the game, you cant rely on a platnium angel for ever.

You spent $4000 on magic cards instead of working?!

Fix your marriage or lose it.

Stop caring about magic cards.

Choose now or suffer! Family or mtg?                  I have a friend who spent almost all his money on cards when he was in college, even his school fees. He didn't last a year and it ruined his opportunities. Hope this doesn't happen to you my friend. Cook a nice dinner for your wife and talk it over. Let her hold your budget and tell her to just give you a tiny chunk like every month or so for your mtg. Start by being responsible and true to yourself. Just an advice bro.
