If you're running black, instead of {Parallel Lives} use {Conspiracy} and call something other than Dragon so you're not forced to sacrifice any of the tokens.

That is why you have the combo in a deck based on search and find, using other combos like an animated {planar portal}, {voltaic construct} and {metalworker} or an animated {Thran dynamo}
