Hey there!

Tech difficulties made this go up a little late (and now made me post here a little late), but part 2 of our interview of Alex Kessler of the Masters of Modern podcast is up.

We talk legacy, modern, banning policies in both (#BanTerminous), and make WILDLY NAIVE predictions about the Modern Pro Tour!

This will be the last post in the Modern boards for us for a while, since our general episodes are fairly exclusively Legacy. If you like the show or want to talk modern with me, hop over tot he Legacy page or hit me up on gmail, twitter, or here.

Maybe you guys can cover budget builds in the future. Legacy for the poor man so to speak.

Definitely!

Episode 3 is a budget episode, because we realized "budget" was big enough to be a series. Not sure the topic of the next one, but we will continue it.

I'm thinking maybe a group deck tech of "super budget" decks....tier 2.5-3 so not really deserving their own episodes, but showing you can win games on $30-$150 budgets.

Thanks!

We each got a $50 microphone. that is a lot of literal dirt depending on your audio frame of reference but it is so much better. Makes me very happy. Glad you like it!

Forgive me for posting this Ina. Few forums...not sure where it fits best and I think lots of people only frequent 2-3 forums.

Legacy Weapon podcast episode 9 is live, and we tackle a listener question about moving from modern into legacy.

We are Modern noobs, so we brought on the amazing Alex Kessler of the Masters of Modern podcast to fill up our format knowledge Venn Diagram.

This is our FIRST interview episode and first episode on Modern, so feedback is appreciated, ESPECIALLY from Modern players as this episode is more focused to you.

Remember, we are an introduction to Legacy for people who know magic but don't know legacy. We started at the 100% ground level of complexity and have been working our way up as we build the listener's presumed knowledge base. This episode is a little more advanced...it takes some knowledge of legacy and modern for granted, but is still aimed to be accessible.

It is! I think it's a tier1.5 deck, but it is solid.

If you want to test sometime by play by post or Untap, let me know.

Did you adopt this from a Nic Fit list, or make it from scratch?

Looks fun to me.

Yeah. I would love it. They could also print worse versions, but still playable, of reserve list cards.

Dual lands that are legendary
Moxen that are painful somehow

They would make all the money

I heard a lot of people (probably exaggerating) talking about moving out of modern and into legacy, since they don't feel like they can trust modern as a legit "non rotating" format. I doubt anyone sells out of modern but a couple people did actually start buying into legacy that I know because of the banning.

Any of you having similar thoughts? We discuss this with Alex from Masters of Modern on the next episode of our podcast.

The sliver that gives poison counters....I forget the name..is good to go Aggro to the face ESPECIALLY since it stacks (play one turn one. Play two more urn two, and you got for 3 poison turn 2, 9 MORE poison turn 3)
