Rules / Re: Riders of Gavony
March 06, 2013, 11:15:08 PM
No problem! And here's the actual rule so you don't have to take my word for it.

112.3d Static abilities are written as statements. They're simply true. Static abilities create continuous effects which are active while the permanent with the ability is on the battlefield and has the ability, or while the object with the ability is in the appropriate zone. See rule 604, "Handling Static Abilities."

No, the ability goes when gavony dies. Since Gavony is the source of the protection it leaves when gavony leaves. It's like having  an umbrella in the rain; when the umbrella gets blown away, do you get wet?

Like a  {Bonfire of the Damned} or a {Mizzium Mortars}? Then yes. Shroud only prevents targeting and since neither of these target, the shroud creature would be affected.
Mizzium doesnt work unless ocerloaded though.
Right, I was assuming the overload. My apologies.

I believe it might be good to mention that you, being the attacker, get to decide the order of the blockers. Not your opponent.

It looks like 2 or 3 {Cloudshift}s would be good here. Especially for the  {Urbis Protector}s and  {Centaur Healer}s.

I can only see this being true for combat damage. Because a judge ruled in favor of me when I used  {Rakdos's Return} and redirected the damage to his PW but he still had to discard the cards.

Not just {watery grave} but any shock lands that have the subtype swamp. (i.e.  {Blood Crypt},  {Overgrown Tomb},  {Godless Shrine})

Put in a few more white sources and 1 or 2  {Entreat the Angels} would be great here. Besides that I'm interested to see how this works out for you. Good luck!

I like it! Best of all it's affordable, which really makes me want to build this. Even if its just for casual play lol
I got second place at FNM and the place I go is very competitive so it is not just casual
Interesting, I've been trying to keep a decent jund but ever since gatecrash it hasn't been happening. I'm definitely glad you put this up. I'll probably throw in some  {Increasing Confusion}. If not just for the flashback

My bad, I don't play with bad cards so I didn't realize it was

Cremate isn't bad at all. Albeit it's not the best mainboard but people play have it sideboard all the time. Specifically for reanimate decks (not to mention it's black draw power without the normal cost of paying life or saccing a creature). It's cheap, especially since the best 1 drop graveyard targeting mechanic card ( {Deathrite Shaman} ) is over ten bucks a pop and rising. But shaman is no good in this deck anyway, seeing as he has no green mana; making cremate a very good and viable black grave removal/draw power.
