Rules / Sacrifice
February 02, 2013, 06:26:59 AM
So I'm playing MTG - Duels of the Planeswalkers 2013 on Steam, and there are a couple of weird things happening that doesn't seem right to me. One of them is when the computer-controlled player blocks with his {Brindle Boar} and the sacrifice-rule triggers when the boar dies defending, thus giving the opponent 4 life. Isn't that cheating? :) Or does a creature get sacrifices if it dies in combat?

ETB = Enters The Battlefield?

As I understand it I can summon the creature with soulbond first and the next turn summon another creature and then pair them and vice versa. But if this creature dies and the creature with soulbond remains, can I then pair it with another creature that enters the battlefield?

Got it! Thanks

Say that you have had {Ring of Evos Isle} equipped on a blue creature for five turns and somehow the equipment gets destroyed. At this point the creature is +5/+5, right? Will this multiplier disappear with the equipment or will the creature remain a +5/+5 creature?

Is there any limit to the amount of equipments and/or auras that you can attach to a creature?

If you cast an instant like {Murder}, does that then result in a stack on the affected creature, making the Murder-card have it's effect first, thus preventing potential creature card-effects to take place? For example if I use Murder on a creature-spell such as {Seller of Songbirds} - will I then prevent that creature from being summoned AND prevent the token from entering the battlefield?

Do I have to discard two identical cards if I have them? Even if I don't want to?

Can someone explain how {Void Stalker} works and how you best use it?

So, another card-specifik question. Let's see if I can do this link-thing. It's conserning {Sphinx of the Chimes}. It says "Discard two nonland cards with the same name: Draw four cards". So I suppose that I can't "deploy" this guy if I don't have two identical non-land cards? Can these be discarded from the battlefield too or does it have to be from the hand? Can i discard one from the hand and one from the battlefield? I'm guessing that you use him with a deck that produces 1/1 tokens?

I have two questions about the Nivix Guilmage card (http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=270366):

1. This is about the draw a card, discard a card in general - If I have no card on my hand when I do the draw a card, discard a card thing, do I then discard the card I pick up?

2. "Copy target instant or sorcery spell you control" - The cards I "control" are they the cards that I have in my hand? Or does it only apply for an instant/sorcery that is currently in play? The next line "You may choose new targets for the copy" seems to strengthen this theory.

Rules / Deck Size

Hi!
I'm new to MtG, and as such I have many questions. My first one is this: Does each player have to have the same amount of cards in their decks?
