Haha just won with this on untap with a modern deck built around this idea, it was fun =P

Scion only cares if you "attempted" to put it into the graveyard, searched and revealed, and removed from the deck. Any replacement effect that makes it so cards don't go into the graveyard won't matter for scions ability. It's the thought that counts *winks, smiles, teeth sparkle*

Your opponent would only lose 7 life, he would not gain any.  Reason being, when deflecting palm resolves, you choose his creature, the creatures damage is prevented (not redirected) and deflecting Palm deals the 7 damage.

But what sounds like a strong sideboard for an event?

I personally like {natures claim}s in my sideboard just because I get rid of a lot of threats with it. I see you have 2, I usually run 4 in UG. That's just me though, what kind of decks do you normally play against?

I feel {gitaxian probe} should be in here somewhere. The card allows you to see your opponents hand so you know whether you can go all in on a creature, also it replaces itself. Maybe -2 IoK and -1 abrupt decay for 3 main, I normally play UG infect, and it's always nice to see that my opponent cannot stop an 11/11 on turn 3.

Also, {mutagenic growth} is a great card, feel like it belongs in any infect deck, and {illness in the ranks} is a good token remover for sideboard

I understand that as I said I personally don't like them. Also I like to have my creature out turn one or two for infect so I can possibly drop my load turn 3.

I personally like to shoot my load at them by turn 3. But I guess dropping your load works too...

So this type of deck falls to a board wipe, maybe {Rootborn Defense}? It's not the greatest and doesn't stop languish but it will stop destroy all, and burn all.

{Eidolon of Rhetoric} +  {Possibility Storm}

Each time they play something, they cannot cast whatever they get with possibility storm, essentially countering all spells played.

Change Eidolon for {Curse of Exhaustion} so you can still cast things but the opponent you chose cannot.

You could also change Possibilty Storm for {Knowledge Pool} and still get the same result.
