Hey I'm from Cleveland. What shops do you guys play at??

I frequent: mr cards n comics, and empire cards an games.

I normally go to York comics or Ground Zero. I haven't gone since DGM prerelease though. Between my work schedule and all my friends dropping magic, I haven't played recently.

Don't cut the {Mutilate}s. i would up them to 4. They work wonders in my BR control. Honestly i would cut the  {Crypt Ghast}, it a pipe dream of turn 4 ghast into turn 5  {Griselbrand}. You will be dead to argo decks by then.

I think I like the mutilates at 3 just because if I'm getting destroyed by quick aggro, mutilates wont be able to help until turn 4 when it may be to late already. As far as {crypt ghast}, that's literally my win con, I can't take that out. I can mana ramp into {bonfire of the damed}, {griselbrand}, or {rakdos's return} as well as provide extra mana for more kill spells.
Which is why I bring up the point of kill spells, I run 11 kill spells as well as 2 {liliana of the veils}, and 3 {nighthawks}, if aggro can manage to kill me by turn 4 with all of that than I will applaud the maker of that deck

I ran a very similar deck and the ghast were the under performers. Your turn 4 play is critical. You will need to either play mutilate, slam down Olivia, or play two of blacks situational removal. Aggro decks won't waste removal on the rats or the night hawks, they know what's conning after ghast hits the board and will more than likely remove it as soon as you pass. Remember you're playing a control deck, you don't want to rely on 1 for 1 trade offs all game.

I'd cut typhoid rats for sure, and maybe shave 1 off a few other things. Maybe throw duress into the sideboard?

Ok that makes sense, I forgot my sideboard so I'll make sure I post that soon

I would cut  {Mutilate}.  It is pretty pricey for what it does.  You would be better off with  {Dreadbore} in a sideboard.
If you dont mind explaining your thought process why do you say that? Mutilate is my only source of world kill and dreadbore is a conditionless kill card along with a capability of destroying pesky planeswalkers

What is your alternate win condition. Just in case something happens and you lose both your  {Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker} either milled or killed or countered or something.
Turn {vampire nighthawks} sidewise?
This. I've seen a grixis control deck win by turning the same {Snapcaster Mage} sideways for ten turns straight.

I would go with RDW. It typically has a turn 4 win and most of the prices have gone down due to {Hellrider} being in a duel deck and cards like {Stromkirk Noble} and {Ash Zealot} in event decks. You could go into more expensive territory with {Thundermaw Hellkite} and {Boros Reckoner} but my deck worked fine without them.

Gloom Surgeon seems pretty mediocre, but maybe I haven't seen him in action.  Dropping him and bringing some of ur two ofs to 3 or 4 seems good, but maybe Gloom Surgeon really is good enough

He slows aggro down a bit and give us time so we aren't blowing away our removal. It doesn't matter of he dies with mutilate and at worst he's discard folder for liliana. I always flip flop him between mainboarded and sideboard but I felt I was really lacking with 2 drops. So ultimately I settled with him main. And of anything I just side all 4 game two as needed.

This is my updated version of MBC splash Red. It's been performing very well with my easiest wins coming from Jund surprisingly. This has been a blast to play. Let me know what you think, I love talking about this decks construction.

I personally think you need more {Sign in Blood}
What should I take out for it?
You could do a 3-3 split with  {Mutilate}

You always want your board wipes available to you. I'd honestly drop an Olivia. She legendary and won't do you much good when ones already on the field.

First things first, 4 {Mutilate} mainboard, period. The meta demands it.

Very true!!

Yeah get those in there. You don't need the slaughter games unless you know what your playing against before hand, like against your friend, so sideboard them. If your meta isn't heavy on turning dudes sideways you can even sideboard the surgeons.

You want to play this deck drawgo in the early game. You're hoping for them to over extend by turn four so you can drop a mutilate and start your game. All your cards need to be must answers but like I said you don't want to rely heavily on grisle. Those ghast have huge targets on there heads and you don't want hands with multiple grisle and no way to cast them is ghast died.

{Tragic Slip},  {Devour Flesh}, and  {Olivia Voldaren} also the  {Rakdos Keyrune}

These are all great. The keyrune will help all game. Providing ramp and a great blocker. If you're blocking Reckoner with the keyrune you're doing it wrong. Tragic slip, victim, devor flesh, and mutilate are meant to handle him. So main board those mutilates! Also 4 grisle is too much. I know the idea is a to play one early off of ghast, but it will be seen miles away and ghast will die the moment you play him. You don't want to rely heavily on him.

Mtgsalvation has a section like this already. It's a good idea. There competitive section is separated by established and developing decks. Established being decks already making waves and constantly placing in large events. I don't see this being hard to implement.

Maybe {Dreadbore} rather than {Ultimate Price}? Plainswalker removal is pretty good.
Plus there are so many multicolored creatures out there

I knew there was something I forgot! I will probably side board the {Dreadbore}s as I only have 8 red sources and rather remove there threats on their turn and not mine. But I will definitely test with them mainboarded.
