That's precisely what I wanted to know.

Have you heard the term "negging?"
Is that the accepted term for what happens when there are no counters?

Is there a term for the opposite of that?
Something like Giant Growth where the effect gives +1/+1 until end of turn?
I assume "negging" is only when the effect is negative...

This question came to mind while playing a Planechase duel.

The plane was Selesnya Loft Gardens. "If an effect would place one or more counters on a permanent, it places twice that many of those counters on that permanent instead."

When using a card like Disfigure ("Target creature gets -2/-2 until end of turn."), is the -2/-2 considered a counter?
Would the creature get -4/-4?

I scoured some forums and found the term for this was "negging," but couldn't find it in the rules.

It doesn't explicitly state "counters," like when one is Devouring or Withering.

Clarification, please?
