{Memory Lapse} is another good one, counters the general AND skips their next draw step.

I'm pretty sure once you took the first 5-10 from everyone and showed the potential to take the rest, most people would scoop just to save the time. Same sorta thing happens with a deck called Eggs in modern, the combo takes about 10 minutes to execute so once they've seen it once they scoop once you start it off in g2/3 generally :)

Combo Corner / New Jace EDH combo

Most of us have seen the {Jace, Architect of Thought} and {Doubling Season} for Modern to fetch their biggest guys and your 2nd/3rd/4th Jace...
I was thinking today how to best translate this into EDH seeing as you can't fetch another Jace, and stumbled upon {Wheel of Moon and Sun}.
Play Jace, w/ Doubling Season he's ready to go, crack his ultimate and choose to put him on bottom of deck using the Wheel. Grab him back out with his own ability, take a card of your choice from everyone else's library, and repeat 100 times to deck everyone!

Oh wow, yet another reason I need to get the rulings section of this app.
Good news is it didn't change the outcome of the game, but thanks guys!

Rules / Sower of Temptation vs. Norn
September 16, 2012, 08:07:34 PM
Hey guys, had this issue come up yesterday in a game. I controlled an {Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite} and a {Meddling Mage} naming an irrelevant card. My opponent then played {Sower of Temptation}, gaining control of my Elesh Norn.
We had to ask a few local rules aficionados for advice on how it would play out, and it was still a little unclear in the end.
We played it as:
Sower entered, ability on stack;
State was checked, Sower put in graveyard from -2/-2;
Sower ability resolved, Elesh Norn changed control killing my Meddling Mage;
State was checked, Sower not present so Norn returned to me.

Was this played correct? Or should my Mage have survived, or like Fiend Hunter shenanigans should my Norn have been permanently taken?
Cheers

Here's my combo:

Turn 1. {cathedral of war}
Turn 2. {plains} {sphere of the suns}
Turn 3. {plains} {sublime angel}
Turn 4. {cathedral of war} {silverblade paladin} {mutagenic growth} :)

Pushing the mono-white requirement but you've listed sphere of suns so:
Replace silverblade paladin with Gather the Townsfolk, and use Sphere for {Assault Strobe}, then mutagenic for the win.
To cut the mutagenic, replace Sphere of the Suns with {Iron Myr}, you'll hit 10 double-strike without muta!

{Tezzeret, the Seeker} sounds like he'd love a Wurmcoil Engine + Trading Post deck...throw in some {Mycosynth Wellspring}'s or {Ichor Wellspring}'s and you're set!

I think the wording on this is really ambiguous. "Commander/Player pair" could refer to a pair as the attacking player and a general, or the defending player and a general...

Protection stops the following:
-damage
-enchanting/equipping
-blocking
-targetting

White and black board wipes generally go through protection as they're either "destroy" or -x/-x. Red ones usually get stopped as they're purely damage.

The player and all their other creatures would still take damage in your example though!

{Prototype Portal} means you can do it for 10 mana, standard even!

If storm doesn't work with Kiln Fiend, does Rebound? {Staggershock} for example.

New Phyrexia intro pack, the WG golems one. I had to change it to UW to keep up with my partner's flying deck, and I still play it now at FNM's albeit more token themed than just golems :)

Rules / Re: Flickering Fiend Hunter

His second ability triggers, whilst his first ability is still on the stack and hasn't resolved yet. So after cloudshift resolves, the stack has:

-the ETB from the new Fiend Hunter object
-the LTB from the old Fiend Hunter object
-and the ETB from the old Fiend Hunter object.

Stack resolves top down:
- exile something, will return when Fiend Hunter leaves
- return creature exiled from old Fiend Hunter object; no target so nothing to return?
- exile a creature, to return when old Fiend Hunter object leaves the battlefield.

The old Fiend Hunter object doesn't exist anymore therefore that creature will never return.

Just to confirm, this means sacrificing would activated undying yes? Seeing as the creature still "dies"?
