But whether you are casting it for its dash cost or not, the commander tax should still be applied. If it was an ability like {derevi, empyrial tactician}, the tax wouldnt apply, but since its just an alternative cost the tax will still need to be paid.

And the "because of flash" doesnt matter. If i have out {vedalken orrery} that doesnt mean i can cast my commander without paying the tax.

This is all assuming your talking about casting from the command zone. If the commander is in your hand, youll never have to pay commander tax on it.

The "commander tax" is an extra cost that is factored into the TCC of your commander regardless of whether you're paying its mana cost or an alternate cost.

Also according to at least one thread I found, the commander tax is applied to an Alternate Cost as well.
In this case, pay 2 + Dash cost, put in play that turn until end of turn. Then next turn pay regular cost, put it in play as a regular permanent.

according to the spoilers a new mechanic will be Dash, defined as this

Dash {cost}. (You may cast this spell for its Dash cost. If you do, it gains haste, and it's returned from the battlefield to it's owners hand at the beginning of the next end step.)

My friend has mused out loud about being able to evade the Command Tax by (re-)casting a creature with Flash through Dash when the creature dies. He says the ability doesn't specify a zone so he wants to pay the alternate casting cost and get his commander on the battlefield without Tax.

the way he asked this focused on evading hitting the Command Zone after death "because of Flash"
I told him this was bogus for a couple of reasons - mostly dying not using the stack.

follow up question.. what if opponent also copy {Phyrexian Processor} with {Clever Impersonator} or {Phyrexian Metamorph}, does opponent have to pay life also?

Actually I am totally wrong about this, as per last post.
turns out there's an explicit ruling about this on the Phyrexian Metamorph's Oracle page:

"6/1/2011   Any enters-the-battlefield abilities of the copied permanent will trigger when Phyrexian Metamorph enters the battlefield. Any "as [this] enters the battlefield" or "[this] enters the battlefield with" abilities of the chosen permanent will also work."

So yea your opponent playing the card copiers would need to pay the life

i have in play {Phyrexian Processor} and opponent use {Flicker} to it, do i have to pay new life after it returned to battlefield?

Yes.
(Technically you don't _have to_, but paying 0 is mostly useless as the ruling on the card states.)

No, the Impersonator becomes a perfect copy of your Processor already in play with all it's attributes as set when it entered the battlefield on your side.

if i am reading this Evoke rule correctly, it seems I could with 5 available mana cast {Mulldrifter} through evoke cost, then as the creature enters the battlefield respond to the delayed trigger by activating Roonie's exile ability. end result the Mulldrifter stays on the battlefield and I get to draw 4 total cards (2 coming in with Evoke and 2 coming in from the Hidden Realm)

So my {Bronze Sable} is enchanted with {Gift of Immortality}, when cool opponent casts the coolest card ever {Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite}.
