Rules / {alpha authority} and {madcap skills}

If a creature is enchanted with both {alpha authority} and {madcap skills} can it be blocked?

I had ruling at FMN when I had two {Kalonian Hydra} out each with 4 +1/+1 counters and both attacking judge ruled both would end with 8 each. Now my question is would they not double then double again to make the end result 16 counters on each hydra?
