Help for iMtG / Re: Import csv with expansion info?

Check though your the settings! There is an option near the bottom to only show must recent print of cards turn that option off

And it will show all prints!

Thanks Teysa. I do have that option turned off though. The trouble isn't that I can't see earlier versions, it's that cards from earlier versions are getting imported as if they were later expansions.

Help for iMtG / Import csv with expansion info?
November 13, 2013, 06:17:59 PM
Hi all, is there a way to include expansion info while importing a collection via csv file? Import seems to default to the most recent expansion for a given card.
Guess that wouldn't matter for deck building, but for collection mgmt it's important.
Thanks.

OK. Starting over with a smaller test file.
I took the first 20 lines of the export from Deckbox (header + 19 entries), and saved it as "bugtest20.csv".
These are cards from various sets; only sort is alphabetical by card name. Here's the text of that file:

Count,Tradelist Count,Name,Foil,Textless,Promo,Signed,Edition,Condition,Language
1,0,Abandon Hope,,,,,Tempest,Near Mint,English
2,1,Abbey Gargoyles,,,,,Homelands,Near Mint,English
1,0,Abbey Gargoyles,,,,,Fifth Edition,Near Mint,English
5,0,Abbey Matron,,,,,Homelands,Near Mint,English
3,0,About Face,,,,,Urza's Legacy,Near Mint,English
1,0,Absolute Law,,,,,Urza's Saga,Near Mint,English
1,0,Absorb,,,,,Invasion,Near Mint,English
2,1,Abu Ja'far,,,,,Chronicles,Near Mint,English
1,0,Abyssal Gatekeeper,,,,,Weatherlight,Near Mint,English
1,0,Abyssal Horror,,,,,Urza's Saga,Near Mint,English
1,0,Abyssal Hunter,,,,,Classic Sixth Edition,Near Mint,English
1,0,Abyssal Specter,,,,,Ice Age,Near Mint,English
1,0,Academy Rector,,,,,Urza's Destiny,Near Mint,English
3,1,Academy Researchers,,,,,Urza's Saga,Near Mint,English
1,0,Accumulated Knowledge,,,,,Nemesis,Near Mint,English
1,0,Acidic Soil,,,,,Urza's Saga,Near Mint,English
3,0,Acridian,,,,,Urza's Saga,Near Mint,English
7,0,Active Volcano,,,,,Chronicles,Near Mint,English
3,0,Adarkar Unicorn,,,,,Ice Age,Near Mint,English

I imported that to iMTG via Dropbox. Named the new binder "Bugtest20". Made no change to the sort.
The binder displays the cards in the same order, but now "Abyssal Horror" shows as 7th Edition, and  Academy Researchers shows as 10th Edition.

I emailed that binder to myself, and I've pasted the resulting .csv text here:

Order,Expansion,ExpansionCode,CardName,CollectorNumber,Language,Count,Condition,IsFoil,IsSigned,Notes
0,"Urza's Destiny","ud","Academy Rector",1,"en",1,0,0,0,""

0,"Urza's Saga","us","Absolute Law",2,"en",1,0,0,0,""
0,"10th Edition","10e","Academy Researchers",63,"en",3,0,0,0,""

I have no idea why the order is different here from the way it's displayed in the binder view in iMTG (still alphabetical as imported). That's what tripped me up with my earlier post.
In any case, you can see the version changes to the 2 cards I mentioned.

I'll send a fresh help email from inside iMTG so you can see the backup versions.

Thanks

Crap. I screwed that up. I'll try later on when I'm back at my home machine. Meanwhile I found the Feedback button in the app so I sent you the specs.

Also, that sample was just a subset from the Urza's cycle. As far as I saw, the only expansions that changed started as one of the 3 Urza's cycle. All the other expansions seemed to import fine.

OK. Couldn't find a way to attach the entire files, but here's the first 6 records of the .csv from Deckbox:

Count,Tradelist Count,Name,Foil,Textless,Promo,Signed,Edition,Condition,Language
3,0,About Face,,,,,Urza's Legacy,Near Mint,English
1,0,Absolute Law,,,,,Urza's Saga,Near Mint,English
1,0,Abyssal Horror,,,,,Urza's Saga,Near Mint,English
1,0,Academy Rector,,,,,Urza's Destiny,Near Mint,English
3,1,Academy Researchers,,,,,Urza's Saga,Near Mint,English
1,0,Acidic Soil,,,,,Urza's Saga,Near Mint,English

and here is the first 6 records of the resulting binder in iMTG (emailed)

Order,Expansion,ExpansionCode,CardName,CollectorNumber,Language,Count,Condition,IsFoil,IsSigned,Notes
0,"Urza's Legacy","ul","Repopulate",111,"en",3,0,0,0,""
0,"Urza's Saga","us","Clear",7,"en",3,0,0,0,""
0,"7th Edition","7e","Impatience",197,"en",1,0,0,0,""
0,"Urza's Destiny","ud","Private Research",41,"en",3,0,0,0,""
0,"Urza's Destiny","ud","Iridescent Drake",35,"en",1,0,0,0,""
0,"Magic 2013 (M13)","m13","Rewind",65,"en",2,0,0,0,""

As you can see, a couple of these switched editions; it seems to happen whenever there is a more recent edition to default to (i.e. not a unique card to Urza's).

Thanks,

Hi,
I did an import from my Deckbox collection. Loaded the .csv into iMTG via Dropbox.
Worked amazingly well, except:
Some cards loaded as the wrong edition; as far as I can tell, this only occurs when the original card was in Urza's Saga, Legacy, or Destiny, and when a later edition of the card is always available.
Any advice?
Thanks

Yes, I am using an iPhone 4. 7.0.3 OS

Thanks for the info-- out of curiosity, then, what does the Merge button do? Does it combine binders?

Help for iMtG / Merge button on Binder Settings screen
October 26, 2013, 06:23:12 PM
Hi,
I can see the Delete and Merge buttons on the bottom of the Binder Settings screen, but I can't get my iPhone screen to stay scrolled all the way to the bottom-- so those buttons pop back below the edge of the screen.
Am I missing some obvious way to be able to click those buttons?
Mostly I'm curious to find out what the Merge button does...

Thanks
