Profane Command's mana cost is XBB with the effect:

Choose Two:
-Target Player loses X life
-Target creature gets -X/-X until end of turn
-Return target creature card with converted mana cost X or less from the graveyard to the battlefield
-Up to X target creatures gain fear until end of turn

My question is, can you use the same effect twice? Like can you make an opponent lose X life twice instead of picking another effect?

I have a mono-red burn deck. I have Possibility Storm in it and 3 or 4 Volcanic Geysers. I was just wondering, should it so happen, what if the card I would get to cast without paying mana cost has an "X" mana cost? Would I still have to pay X? Or would the spell just fizzle? Surely I can't just say that X is whatever I want it to be lol.

Is there a specific rule that can help me out? My opponent happens to be a stubborn ten-year-old lol

Can you end your right after you cast a spell, skipping your other phases, so it will not be countered? I was playing EDH/Commander and my opponent was casting his commander, {Tajic, Blade of the Legion}. I had {Geist Snatch} in my hand and the four lands to play it. But as soon as he played it, he just called "turn," so I couldn't counter it.
