Now what I've always wondered about the full art lands are the crazy variable prices. Online the un ones and zen ones go for 3-10 a pop. I can get any number of them from multiple lgs here for .50 . Is it just how people value them?

I still think making a home brew to play against your meta will always win over any common deck list.

Agreed, I wouldn't be at the level I am if I didn't see how strong mono black was before theros was officially released,( of course I take no true credit for its creation) but I was just looking for something competitive that would last into other formats over time.

Standard / Re: Current rdw idea

This was a shell list I found online that had done fairly well in a few tourneys. Just getting ideas for what standard deck will easily switch to modern format and legacy.

I play it in legacy, and it's quite good in standard ATM.

Does it sideboard well for match ups?

Burn. There is an RDW in basically every format.

Is it consistent in all the formats mentioned? I know it's randomly done well in modern for a while.

So as I'm slowly earning the points to get into competitive magic, I'm noticing decks aren't really sticking around in standard besides mono black. Do you see this being a powerful deck in modern an legacy as well? Of course with changes proper to the format. I just want to start using a well known proven deck instead of my home brews that have barely gotten me to this point.

To reiterate: what deck has the staying power to be played ( with changes) in standard modern and legacy?

I'm currently building a grixis deck as well, but what is its general theme? Mass burn and removal with counters ? Just not sure how to build a shell to start with.

Ulamog the undying plague {8}
Legendary creature~Eldrazi Plague lord
Infect
Atrocity 2 (whenever this creature attacks defending player must sacrifice 2 creatures they control if they can not, defending player gets 2 poison counters)
If Ulamog is put in a graveyard reveal it and shuffle into your library.
8/6

Something like that? ^^^^

Figured I should move this over to this thread.

Seems very very op, I think that's why the great eldrazi can't become phyrexian.

See above for proof.

Nowhere I saw on wizards or the edh site say any damage it must be combat received damage. I believe your mistaken.

From the last line of this paragraph:

"Appropriately enough for a format named after the legendary creature that's leading your team, your commander works differently from other cards in the game. Before the game begins, each player removes his or her commander from the game. You may play your commander from the command zone (no matter how it got there) for its normal costs plus an additional {2} for each previous time it has been played this way. If your commander would go to the graveyard or the exile zone from anywhere, you may put it into the command zone instead. In addition to the normal Magic loss conditions, if a player is dealt 21 points of combat damage from a single commander over the course of the game, that player loses the game!"

Again, your missing the COMBAT damage part. Not abilitys or outside damage. COMBAT, k? Lol
