Title: Flicker effect
Post by: PrinceCharming on August 05, 2012, 06:36:57 AM
If I flicker {{Dungeon Geists}} with a card like {{Cloudshift}} or {{Conjurer's closet}} is it possible to tap down a second creature and have neither of the tapped creatures untap during their cotrolera untap step?

Sorry, but no. As soon as it leaves play and comes back, it's no longer the "same" Giest locking down the first creature. So the first creature will untap normally.

Confirmed.

Even though 2 creatures would be tapped, only the last one you tapped would not untap during its controller's untap step. That's because when you exile something and return it to the battlefield it is a new object.

Amiright??

Edit: *sees jester above* oh ok I am. Gud.

Right that makes sense the answer is in the last part of the cards effect

Thanks for the clarification!

I think it might still be worth running. Even if I flicker Geists during my opponents turn with a card like {{Cloudshift}} or {{restoration angel}} to tap down an aditional creature.

Or if a better creature hits the field and you want to tap the new one down.
