Title: Counter planeswalker
Post by: BcBudds on August 04, 2012, 09:02:56 PM
Is there any way to counter a planeswalker ability?

Another question
Is there any way to get rid of an emblem? As I know they are not

I'm not sure about emblem but you can only counter the card

I believe {Stifle} and {Voidslime} work.

Counterspells won't work. You need to counter an activated ability, like the cards Max said or {Azorious Guilage} (which may get reprinted soon), {Squelch}, {Trickbind}, {Voidmage Husher}, and {Rimewind Crymamcer}.

Good thing Piotr's spellcheck works. 😉

Also, emblems are placed into the command zone and so far, no spells printed can affect that zone so once an emblem is created, there is no way to remove it.

Which is bull crap. Emblems and poison counters should have a way to be affected. Even commanders are not immune to being messed with on the battlefield.  How do these two get to be free?

Holy cow talk about a blast from the past. Ok so one card. Only one card can remove poison counters. But everything else multiple was of being removed and emblems are still free.

I think they should both be immune. If you could monkey with poison counters (other than {Leeches}) then it just becomes Life Total #2. Same with Emblems.

You can take out poison with that green infect immunity legendary creature, can't you? And isn't infect basically life total #2?

{Melira, Sylvok Outcast} stops you from getting any more, but {Leeches} aside, poison is irreversible. That's what makes it more interesting. IMHO.

That's why I like {Sorin, Lord of Innistrad}. He can plop down permanent +1/0 for your team that no one can get rid off. (well, there's ONE way ;))

Yes, yes I know don't like an opponents emblem then kill your opponent. Emblem cease to exist.
Now on another note I also like Sorin. Play Sorin, create emblem, next turn create second emblem, play second Sorin, create a 3/1 lifelink vampire. Fun times.

No, actually I meant the only one other way to get rid of an emblem. Restart the game ({Karn Liberated}, I'm looking at you. 😄)

Ah, yes. I do love Karn. Especially when I realized that if you exile your own cards, you tend to have a much stronger restart...

Lol! I initially thought to exile your opponents but after 10 games playing with him I started to exile my own like you mention.
