Title: Inkmoth VS Undying
Post by: HandsomeStallion on August 03, 2012, 04:55:46 AM
If I had an {Inkmoth Nexus} and I activated it's ability to be a Blinkmoth artifact creature and it got destroyed but I casted {Undying Evil} targeting it, would the land be brought back from the graveyard to the battlefield, and would it gain the +1/+1 counter? What if it died when {Mikaeus, the Unhallowed} is in the battlefield.

It should come back with a counter on it. The wording on undying requires it to be a creature when it dies, but doesn't say anything about what state it has to be in when it comes back...I would think it would work like normal.

When Inkmoth comes back, it would return in its land state I believe. With a counter on it. Because lands with +1 counters are super special.

It will come back in both cases as a land with a +1

Confirmed

Undying cam create funny effects. I once played a game where I copied an undead {geralf's messenger} with a {phyrexian metamorph}, then a {day of judgement} got played. When the metamorph came in the only legal target for it to copy was a {pristine talisman}, so it came in as a talisman with a +1/+1 counter on it. Lol

You could've had it come in as shapeshifter itself with +1/+1
But the talisman was probably worth the ramp.
