Title: Remand vs Mana Leak
Post by: Jacetherican on July 30, 2012, 10:55:03 PM
I am new to the modern format. I usually play lots of standard. However, i decided to play modern since i literally have most of the cards for R/U/W(American Aggro).
So my ? Here is why Remand over Mana Leak?
Remand draws you a card
Mana Leak is a hard counter
Help?

First you can link to cards by putting curly brackets around them. Quote me to see how.
{Mana Leak}
{Remand}

Secondly I would play two of each.

{Remand} is a hard counter, there's no way around. Like {Dissipate}, or the classic {Counterspell}
{Mana Leak} is a soft counter, it gives them an option to prevent it. Like {Daze} or {Circular Logic}.

Cause i currently run
{remand} x4
{mana leak} x1

Played vs pod and i {mana leak} his {melira, outcast} to keep him from the combo. Remand here would only delayed it. A split of {remand} and {mana leak} seems to be the way to go. Or in my case
3-2.

I think it honestly depends on the deck. For example a combo deck would prefer {remand} because of the draw effect while a control deck would prefer {mana leak} or well that's how I look at it :)
