Title: Activity
Post by: Karrthus on July 30, 2012, 03:24:11 AM
How can we get more people active in this section of the forum?
As of now I usually see the same 2-3 people posting. At this point I usually know what they will say cuz they are the only ones besides me who post on EDH.
Have you guys noticed its the same in the RL. It's hard to find people who play EDH on a regular bases.

It's probably because it's usually alot of money for 100 cards that you don't even use in tourneys. Who are the 2-3 people?

I want to, but I am really inexperienced with EDH deck building and low budget. :P

I miss SpikePit, he built some really different/fun decks that always were full of ideas. I hope he comes back from wherever he disappeared to.

But yeah, EDH is love-it-or-hate-it format. Spike players hate it, always. so there goes a sizable portion of players right there. Usually there is a group of commander-lovers hanging around that you can play with though.

I'd post more decks but it's time consuming on my second gen iPod and the app crashes alot when using deckbuilder.

IMO it doesn't cost that much for 100 cards. Unless you insist on pimping out the deck immediately. For the most part I think the most expensive deck I own was my original nicol bolas EDH. I think I threw 80-100 bucks at it. Plus this past weekend I ordered 500 rates and 375 c/uc from SCG for around 100 bucks

I love EDH. We have a huge crowd for it in my town. I don't post much because this section of the forum isn't too active.

EDH is generally considered a fairly cheap format at my LGS, yes is can be expensive but it doesnt have to be. I've noticed that most of the people who play it consistantly (15-20) dont have an iphone or anything else that would have this app. I dont know if this is the case eslewhere but maybe this helps explain it.
Also i personally have only been playing since Rise and therefore only know about mono green EDH and the cards that have come up in conversation, im hardly qualified to give any real advice on any nonstandard enviroment.

EDH is the one place I've thrived in magic because:
1) it's only as expensive as you make it
2) you're not really limited in your ideas
3) you don't see the same 3 damn decks every f*@$$ing time you sit down to play

I couldn't agree more. The thing I love the most about EDH is that alot of cards that you wouldn't ever think of using in a constructed format are awsome here.

No kidding. Who ever thought {lost in the mist} would be a good counter
