I am considering making this my main fnm deck. My first deck was mono black and I feel like doing it again. The point of this deck is to make them discard threats before they happen. Then use {Surgical Extraction} to get rid of multiples.
Once they have a creature bomb in their graveyard, {Gruesome Encore} can make use of it. Works well against frites because it gets rid of their creature and also lets you use it.
{Severr the Bloodline} will make the sideboard vs tokens. I don't have any answers to planeswalkers once they resolve though.
I need some mono black experts to give me advice. Thanks :)
Problem is when your playing against decks with no big fatties.

Nighthawk itself wont make much of a difference. This is a control deck so I reccomend a big control bomb like Wurmcoil or Griselbrand.
Hm okay. I like the idea of discarding grissely with liliana, then using {Gruesome Encore} on him to draw 7 cards and do 7 damage at no life cost. Even better if I equip {Lashwrithe} to him.

Well splash a teeeny tiiinyyy bit pf white for flasbacking {Unburial Rights} and then you can sideboard {Oblivion Ring} to take care of pesky walkers.
I agree. Bring back {Griselbrand} and put in {Unburial Rites} and add some {Isolated Chapel}s and sideboard some {Oblivion Rings} for more control.
I just use it with duress and distress and the like.
I like the ideas. :) I will put 4 {Godless Shrine} in there to help rites, since it is still a swamp. Until rtr comes out...I'll just use a different strategy.
Also there is no win con against decks that win with cheap efficient creatures. Those decks would be Autoscoop.

I added ragers for draw power. Added things to use rites on. May go with + 1 mote overlord and -1 rites. I need to add white mana sources.

How much have you been able to play test this? And with how much control you have I think you can deal with the horde decks that get blown up fast. I don't know of any contestant turn three win any more so a turn four {mutilate} would stop that. Plus your {dismember} {tragic slip} and such for before and after to wait til your big guys. Then for token decks side in ratchet bombs. The only card I didn't care to much for was the equipment but it could be good (I haven't seen it played at all before)
