Torpor Orb
{Etched Monstrocity}
{Primordial hydra}
How does torpor orb interact with those cards I have more card examples but for now
They arnt triggered abilities which is what {torpor orb} stops, I would say no.
Maybe if it said something like when this creature enters the battlefield put X Counters on it. Then it would interact with them
It has no effect.
The easiest way to tell it has an effect is to look for the words "When [ this/a creature ] enters the battlefield [ do this ]. " and then don't do that.
Nothing else is affected.
Also things like {cathar's crusade} would be effected.
Ok what about {melira Sylvok outcast} and etched monstrocity?

Not ETB trigger, but Mel doesn't care. She won't let -1/-1 counter be put on creature you control, so the Monstrocity is a 10/10 for {5}.
You could also use {vampire hexmage} to take the counters off for pretty cheap.
Or {fate transfer} :) put 5 -1/-1 counters on one of their creatures
Awesome I knew that 10/10 was good for something.
Ok so what about {champion of lambholt}? Does it still get counters for other creatures entering the field?

No. That ability triggers because a creature entered the battlefield, and Torpor Orb stops those specific abilities 🔨

This would be an awesome combo in a green ramp deck. 10/10 by turn three or so. Nice!
So {etched monstrosity} ability is a static ability not a triggered ability?

Static. There's no 'when' or 'whenever'.
