Title: 2HG question
Post by: Cindjor on July 24, 2012, 12:35:23 AM
Is it a house rule or do the same players on a team are not allowed to block for each other? My play group always just attacks the one player who doesn't have creatures even if his teammate has an army of creatures on the field. It feels silly because I always thought the only thing you didn't share was mana.

Isn't the official rule "Group Block, Group Attack"?  (I don't feel like looking it up.)

Yup that's how we do it. You can also use instances and sorceries on each others creatures

The 2HG rules are less than a page.  It's easy to read and doesn't take too long.  I haven't memorized them, since I don't play 2HG though.  :-\

This. You share 1 life total, take your turn together, attack together, and block together.

Just to add a little;
You may enchant your partners creatures but cannot equip them.
If you attack with one exalted, and you partner attacks with anything, bam, no exalted. If one player would lose the game normally like being milled, you not lose.
There's probably a few more, but I'm tired. I love 2HG. All I play on DOTP13

Thanks everyone! I rarely play 2HG but I really need to bookmark the rules so I can show my friends. I stopped playing for 7-8 years so my magic rule knowledge isn't "reliable" haha

Not sure if you meant "you will not lose." Although that is not true, in a 2HG, you lose as a team according 810.8a if either of the player of the same team becomes milled.

Whoops typo, good catch. But no I meant if one person would lose the team loses
