Title: Modifying Data
Post by: reezel on July 23, 2012, 04:12:14 PM
I was hoping there was some good way to modify the .imtgbackup files that are put into DropBox. I can't figure out any good way to parse them based off of number. I can pretty easily figure out the expansion.code. I'd just like to be able to modify the files quickly on my computer. Thanks.

Oh and I would love for the ability to choose where to save the files in dropbox. I have my dropbox organized and now it's throwing of that organization for me.

Number is the collector's number. I believe in Steve Jobs' idea of computing and iMtG is highly unlikely to allow you to mess with files and folders.

I'll add some kind of csv import in the future, probably in the next version. In beta we have experimental deckbox.com import.

IS deckbox.com the actual URL you are talking about. It seems to me that doesn't go anywhere useful.

Hmm it may be deckbox.org

If you don't want us to directly modify our files, you could then make a desktop version of iMtG, what about?

Well I can already just modify my file in the dropbox then re-import it to change totals. I was just trying to find a good way to tie the card # listed in the xml with the actual card. Did you ever think about supplying more information in the xml to identify it? That would be really helpful.

I don't want iMtG to be able to choose paths and filenames, but you can mess with your files all you want. It's your data after all.

Desktop version will likely follow the same philosophy and will be Mac only.

I did but I abandoned those plans. As I said, csv support is in the making and that will use card name.
