Sorry for the delay guys but I was busy.
So this is the Monday edition, given to you a little early to make up for missing Friday's article.
On Mondays we change things up a bit. For the Monday issue of Thorn's Lucky Cards I will choose and review 3 cards instead of doing two randomly and one of my choice. So here goes.
1. {Vexing Devil}
Everyone seems to have a different oppinion of this card. Personally I like it but only in the early game. In late game this card's power level decreases exponentially. At turn four of five you opponent will easily have something to outclass a 4/3 however in the early turns of the game four damage is not completely irrevelant. I have won/lost many games within the margine if four life and having a {Sexy Devil} turn one could have improved my chances greatly. All in all I like this card but I do not think that it is tier-1 material in any format.
2. {Battle of Wits}
I personally love this card. Its hilarious when someone shows up to FNM struggling to carry his/her 250 card deck. However this card is unplayable in standard (in my oppinion) and will most likely get beaten in every format except casual.
3. {Akroma's Memorial}
Playable in standard? Only in ramp.
Playable in casual? Hell yes!
This card is such a beating when you cast it. Turning every one of your creatures into Akroma's is always good, especially when the thing boosting your creatures is an artifact. But... The mana cost on this card is too large to make it a playable in any competetive format.

Akroma's memorial seems like you could easily splash it in a green ramp deck. As a sideboard or something
Enjoyed. But maybe next time go into kinda longer descriptions like vexing devil. Battle of wits and akroma's were a little short and were pretty basic.
My buddy ran an Esper {Battle of Wits} deck last Friday for FNM and got 2nd. With the right build, this card can be pretty good. It was hilarious, he kept winning with Wits and everyone would flip out and high-five him
What format was he playing? Standard? Color me impressed.
