Welcome to Lucky Cards By Thorn
For all of those who were not around for the original articles this is an article where I will review 3 cards daily. Two using the "I'm Feeling Lucky" button on this app and 1 of my choice. Soooo
Sorry for such a long wait but I have been pretty busy. However, I will try to start these articles up again.
First up today we have {Crosis, The Purger}
At first glance this card seems amazing but it is really slow and not very useful. In a 60 card deck it is almost unplayable. You spend six mana and the play {Go for the Throat}. There is just too much removal in constructed to justify playing a 6/6 flyer for {3}{R}{B}{U}. His best application is as or in a commander deck but since most commander decks play 3 colors his effect really won't do that much. However 6/6 fliers are always considerable threats and if your opponent is something mon-colored then he gets better.
Secondly we have {Browbeat}
I had not seen this card until I had hit the lucky button. I loved it immediately. Red draw spells are always rare and this one has the possibilty of doing 5 damage. I absolllutely love this card. It should be in almost every burn deck and in lots of red decks too. However like with {Sexy Devil} this card gives your opponent the choice which is its only downside in my oppinion.
Third card for today (my choice) is {Yeva, Natures Herald}
First off this card should be blue :P
No really this is one of the best cards I have ever seen. Giving all of your creatures flash (all if your mono-green) is pretty darn good. The only immediate downside I can see to this card is the fact that before this green players never had to leave mana up for stuff. Now its confusing them because they can't just attack.
Mono-Green Player "First {Birthing Pod} then {Yeva}! What's mono green coming to?"
:D
(just a little story)
Back to topic I think {Yeva} is very, very good and is playable in every format.
(I said playable not good so I do not want any legacy players ranting about how I said Yeva was "good" in legacy)
Thanks
Thorn
Good read! I think you finally gave me the extra push I needed to part ways with Crosis in my commander deck. I like hearing your view in cards, always helpful to get other people's opinions. Keep 'em coming!
Glad I could help.
Oh I forgot.
You guys can suggest cards for me to do tommorow if you really want to get an oppinion on a certain card in your deck.
I'd personally like to hear your thoughts on {Unscythe, Killer of Kings} (also in that commander deck haha). Been another iffy one for me.
Go for the throat for 6? I don't get it, but good article!
{Crosis, The Purger} isnt bad. He puts 6 power on the board, flying body, can take buffs like {Lightning Greaves}, but there are most definitely better mid-range options.
I's say Crosis {Persecute}s more than GftT
Would love your oppinion of {Flicker}! Been wanting it in my edh deck, just not too sure! Still on the fence.
👏👏👏
Should help me build my decks
I think it was meant to say "and they play go for the throat".

Yeah, it pretty useful for situations when you're responding to one person like this. Wasn't going to help with my purpose though, which was to help explain that he wasn't comparing Crosis to go for the throat. Thanks for the tip though.
