Hey all just wondering does {sorin lord of inistrad} suck. Is he not as good as people thought? I want to make a token deck around him. That being said I would like some opinions cause I don't see him played in meta at all. Thanks.
I've seen people play B/W tokens very well.
It's by no means bad.
I like him. If I had kept more than one of him I'd build black white token exalted, just because I'd like to play it lol
I wouldnt say hes bad nor good. I think he is a very balanced planswalker. Its just weird seeing sorin make tokens.
I think he is an above average pw. I run 2 of him mb in my junk deck and he does great. Sorin t4 then {Lingering Souls} t5 gets you 8 damage with flying on the table.
I have only got his ultimate to go off once in FNM, but it sure made me win! He can be slow, however, in certain situations. But overal very useful (ESPECIALLY 4 of him in a BW token deck).
Thats what im saying hes not great but not bad. But he can only go in certain decks. But all in all hes a big target as soon as he hits the table. You let him make more then 2 tokens your in trouble.
He has his uses in creature heavy decks and in control decks. In a control deck you normally don't run to many creatures so he's got token pump for chumps and life gain.
In creature heavy builds he pumps more fighters, gives your creatures a buff and if you get off his ultimate it can very easily be a game winner.
I think he's a bit above average for a 4cmc planeswalker

Compare him to other 4 drop PW. {Jace the mind sculpter} is king in this department, then {elspeth knight-errant}, then {Garruk wild-speaker}, then {ajani Goldmain}. I think sorin ranks after these in use and tournement appearances. Sorin is a balanced PW that IMO can only be used in 2 types of decks: creature heavy or control. He is more limited in use compared to the others. {liliana of the dark realms} is worse then him for right now at least. Right now it is to early to establish whether he is good or bad, and the same goes for liliana.
