Title: Encyclopedia Brown.
Post by: Imdowd80 on July 17, 2012, 03:41:46 PM
I'd pay 25 cents per day, plus expenses, to read one more book. So long, Donald J. Sobol, creator of genius sleuth Encyclopedia Brown.

I loved those books as a kid, wait still love those books.

...Or that bookkeeper is the only word with three consecutive double-letters.  I knew that librarian was up to no good!

Return Encyclopedia Brown, dammit!

Or that if there's a marking on a tree it will stay in that spot no matter how tall the tree grows

Between those and choose your own adventure books, I really feel like kids aren't getting the same things from books that we used to. 😔

Agreed. Kids just aren't reading books in general. Or using there imagine at all. With all this new technologies and video games.
Makes me sad.

Yea and since we're older and played with wooden blocks and action figures, played outside 90% of the time rain or shine, got spanked when we we're being stupid... We have a right to disparage an entire generation of spoiled, lazy, and extremely disconnected children. And no, being "connected" through the Internet does not count. Believers of that thinking just prove my point.

Not directed at anybody, just saying the Internet has made the world a whole lot different.

"Get off my lawn you crazy kids" rant aside, wasn't EB a Canadian book series? Or am I way off?  I thought the live action version was canadian.
