You can't have the arti lands.

I'm pretty sure you're not allowed anything that has a symbol of mana that you're not using.

Its casting cost is colorless though

Yes, but the description shows {U} which you cannot use in the deck.

Let's say you played mono black. You couldn't use {Unburial Rites} because of the {W} symbol.

If memnarch, you can play blue

If memnarch, you can play blue

Hmm. I'm not sure the official ruling. But I have always heard that the color of the commanders mana cost is what determines the color you can play. Not just what's on the card.

That is correct

It's any color on the card no matter where it's at casting cost or abilities do if {memnaric} is used then blue us allowed in the deck ex. {ryhs, the redeemed} can be a white green deck because of its split mana symbol

But that's the casting cost.

Memnarch is a better example of general color limitations for a card then cause I made a Memnarch deck that was tournament legal

He can have basic lands cont as colorless if his commander is colorless as for non basic land like the artifact ones i have no clue, we started this discussion already in my post and I'm working on my colorless edh as well so I would like to know the ruling on the artifact lands

In a colorless edh deck with Karn as the commander you can't have anything in the deck with a colored mana symbol that includes basic lands you have to run any nonbasic land you can find that taps for a colorless mana unless { Memnarch} is used then islands can be used in the deck

You can also run cavern of souls in a full colorless deck simply because "if a color is chosen that is not part of your decks color identification then that color automatically converts to a colorless mana" simple way to cast eldrazi annihilaters with out bein countered

Basic lands are colorless permanents and can be used even in a colorless commander deck. They just produce colorless instead

I was told that you couldn't but I could see how that would work

If you look a basic land up it has an oracle text with a colored mana symbol so I can see it caseing a probiblem

We were over this already in my post about a colorless deck basic lands can be used they produce colorless you aren't forced to stick with memnarch just because he has blue, instead you rely on artifacts and eldrazi spells, karn would be in heaven in a colorless deck. Of course there are better ways to do artifact edh decks but if we are talking about a colorless deck then help build a better colorless. It's a challenge
