Title: Worldfire
Post by: Nobbert on July 11, 2012, 10:27:26 AM
Say I play {day of the dragons}, then play {worldfire}.  Do I get to get all my creatures back when DOTD leaves the battlefield, thus leaving me with a ridiculous board advantage?

Don't see why not.

Same goes for a {Worldgorger Dragon}. Or {Fiend hunter}s, etc....

Okay, so say one of those creatures that I exiled was an {inferno Titan}. Would I be able to take out three opponents with its ETB effect

So you cast your instant in responce to your {worldfire}?  That makes your instant last out of the stack right?

First out, since it was last in.  (AKA, don't do that.  ;))

So you cast the instant 1st then the sorcery?

I would say that would work.
Cast {Shock}
Then cast {Worldfire}
Worldfire will resolve
THEN shock will resolve.

I may be wrong. But it seems logical.

Works, assuming you can cast {Worldfire} as an instant.

Would be logical if you could cast the Sorcery {Worldfire} in response to an Instant, but you can't without something like {Vedalken Orrery} in play.

True! Forgot it was a sorcery! 😣

My combo right now for world fire would be to oblivion ring a creature of mine that has haste hopefully and Worldfire before combat. Creature comes back and I swing for the win.

R/G mana ramp, splash white. Not impossible in standard. I was thinking more for EDH though when getting 9 mana is no problem, and taking out all your opponents at the same time is epic.

Yea. I only standard. My card pool isn't outside of standard at the moment so I have a big disadvantage there.

O-Ring, {Fiend Hunter} or even {Leonin Relic-warder} on your own artifact creature would be good.

If you don't want to splash white, {Helvault} is another option...

e: scratch that. worldfire would exile the Helvault, meaning it doesn't go to grave and crack open.

{Worldfire} and {Misthollow Griffin}
you still need the four lands/mana to cast it. By then they could have top decked a mountain and a burn spell
