I was looking throught the database and saw two cards {Stoneforge Mystic} and {Demonic Tutor}
Now I was a new player trying to make some money to improve my decks so I decided to sell the cards I could to make money. Only now do I realize that my lgs cheated me in giving me $1 for my tutor and $3 for my mystic!
I did not know those cards value and it pisses me off to know that I got ripped.
Ahhh well

(just angry)
There aren't many Alpha/Beta/Unlimited/Revised cards for $1.
May be worth that depending on the condition. But if they ripped you off recently I would ask if you could buy it back for the same price or if they make it a habit or ripping people off.

It was a mint condition duel deck version of the tutor.
And it was years ago I only found out today the real price of the card.
:P
I never seek to stores they are trying to make money. I use eBay or trade at average price. I made the lady mad at my lgs cause I wouldn't pay 15 bucks a pop for {sea chrome coast}. She ended up selling me all three for thirty bucks. Winning.
It might be worth mentioning that card prices vary over time.
If you sold Mystic before Cawblade rose to power, $3 may have been a good deal at the time.
Just a general rule of thumb. There are so many ways to find prices on things you should do some research before you sell anything. People are always looking for their best interest which is not always good for you

I was like 10 when this happened
Still you are correct. I usually do research the prices and if they wont pay what I want I wont sell/trade

Yea I'm kicking myself now too. I was a kid, had to move. Went to pack my toys and stuff, looked at my magic cards, decided I didn't want them any more. Tossed em. Not like I had power or anything, but still, I'd like to know what I had, it was around 95'. Awe shucks!!

That sucks
When I started playing I was 12. That was back in '94 and the card every one was trading for was {shivan dragon}. I saw {black lotus} traded for them. This was before the Internet was still new. So the only way we found out card prices was once a month in {Srye Magazine}. It's great now that apps and everyone can access the Internet now a days for prices.
