There is a card with kicker that puts 11 or 12 1/1 soldier creatures onto the battlefield. But i forgot the name of the card.

That's the silver bullet. I don't know if you would expect to see it that much though.
But since {essence of the wild} says every creature that enters the battlefield is a copy of essence wouldn't the card loose it's abilities? Like generating tokens.

No {army of the damned} is a sorcery not a creature.. The tokens it puts into play would be copies
