When a player casts a planes walker can you use redirect to place the planeswalker under your control

No. When you cast a permanent spell, it enters the battlefield under your control. This doesn't target you, so it can't be {Redirect}ed.

It can be {Commandeer}ed.

Does {comandeer} last the rest of the game?

If {Commandeer} resolves, as for as the game is concerned, it's like you cast the Planeswalker.
