Title: Lifelink
Post by: RevanJJ on July 03, 2012, 07:38:06 PM
Another possibly stupid question. So much has changed since I have come back to MTG. Anyway, if a guy with say 8/8 and lifelink hits my 1/1 guy...how much life does he gain? Does he gain 8 or just the amount it took to kill my creature?

Gains 8 life because he assigned 8 damage to the creature. Even though it only takes 1 to kill it, all damage is assigned at once.

Beat me to it coffee. Assigning 8 damage to the creature even if it only takes 1 damage to kill the creature.

take a bug and a hammer. it might not take much to kill a bug but if I swing that hammer with full wind up it's still
being hit by all that force.

Of course logically this was made for vampires in the game. So a vampire drains a guy whose health is 1...but keeps on drinking the corpse w nothing left. Lol. Or indestructible that can be made to be sacrificed, or killed with -1-/1 counters...just think they should adjust the use of certain things sometimes if they want to tell a story. Yes I seethe logic based on all former rules and thanks but the Webster's dictionary definition of indestructible or the vampire myths sure take a hit lol

for your vampire thing think it takes a certain amount of bloodloss to die, but there's still more blood than just that.
